A great place for students.
We have been fortunate to have helped shape family law into what it is in Canada today and feel privileged to have worked on some of Ontario’s most complex, sophisticated and precedent-setting matters. If you are looking for a place to cultivate your family law career, look no further.
Epstein Cole is the leading family law firm in Ontario and is the largest family law firm in Canada. We are recognized for our established strength and expertise in all aspects of family law. We are also recognized as experts in defending solicitors' negligence claims on behalf of LawPRO. We continue to look for opportunities to spearhead new initiatives and approaches to law to better meet the needs of Canadian families.
What we look for.
Because we see our summer and articling students as potential future associates and partners, we consider student recruitment to be a top priority. In selecting summer and articling students, we look for well-rounded individuals with strong academic credentials who show special interest in the practice of family law. We are seeking students who are strong advocates, team-players, resourceful and can be both creative and pragmatic.
What to expect.
We offer a dynamic and highly-collaborative work environment. The nature of our work is intellectually stimulating, challenging and no two days are the same. Our students will have access to a wealth of resources and training, client contact and first-hand experience with litigation and alternate dispute resolution. We provide a supportive environment for you to master family law advocacy and gain expertise.
Epstein Cole is committed to ongoing continuing legal education for our lawyers and our students. We host a broad range of in-house seminars, which cover topics of general interest and topics of particular interest to family lawyers. Our summer and articling students are also encouraged to attend third party legal education programs and events to enhance their experience.
Our compensation package includes a competitive Toronto salary and articling students receive group medical/dental benefits coverage, two weeks' paid vacation and payment of your LSO Licensing and bar admission call fees.
How to apply.
If you would like to apply for our summer student or articling student programme, please email Roslyn M. Tsao with your cover letter, resume, undergraduate transcripts and law school transcripts (and upcoming Course Selection for Summer Student Applications).
We follow and abide by the recruitment procedures and timelines for student recruitment set out by the Law Society of Ontario for both our summer students and our articling students.
