— Child Support In the January 23, 2023 (2023-03) edition of TWFL, we discussed Auer v. Auer (2022), 81 R.F.L. (8th) 338 (Alta. C.A.), where the Alberta Court of Appeal rejected Mr. Auer's argument that the Federal Child Support Guidelines, SOR/97-175 (the "Guidelines") were ultra vires because they went beyond the scope of authority granted to the Governor in Council (i.e. the Governor General acting on advice of Cabinet).
