Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada ("IRCC") will change the definition of "parent" in s. 3(1)(b) of the Citizenship Act to include parents who do not have a "genetic" relationship with a child because they have relied on assisted human reproduction to start a family, including members of the LGBTQ2+ community and couples with fertility issues.
