Shwetha Pai - First Legal Intern at Epstein Cole

Making the move from India to Ontario as a family law lawyer

Shwetha received her Bachelor in Laws from Mumbai University in India and practised as an associate lawyer for 3 years in Family Law, Real Estate and Estate Planning prior to moving to Toronto to seek admission to the Ontario Bar.  Shwetha obtained her Masters in Canadian Common Law from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2020.

Shwetha has a passion for the practice of family law and, with a view to ready her for an articling position in this area, we have designed a 6-month paid intern position to allow Shwetha to shadow our lawyers and work on matters as she familiarizes herself with Ontario Family Law Rules and Forms, Provincial and Federal family law and our court system as well law firm operations, technology and systems.

Shwetha speaks Hindi, Konkani and Marathi.

We thank Divorcemate for providing Shwetha with access to a free licence and training before she began her internship with us.

Epstein Cole is committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion and the mentoring of family law practitioners.
